This is the perfect book to get started flipping houses. It is comprehensive. It includes all the basic information you must learn to have a shot at being successful. It also goes into great detail on many aspects of flipping, including such important issues as when to schedule each phase of work during the renovation process. It isn't the last book you'll need to read, but after reading it, you'll want to get started flipping right away. You will feel ready. The answers to questions you have and even questions you didn't know you had are all in there. FLIP is the closest thing to having a mentor that you can get in a book. It doesn't sugar-coat the business by making it seem like it can be done without any effort, but it does show that by preparing properly (and this book is a great manual to help you prepare), absolutely anyone can flip houses. I did find myself wishing the book was an iPad App because there are so many links to their website. Rather than having to print out the checklists and forms from their website, a flipper could just pull them up on their iPad or tablet while on the job site. Perhaps they're working on an App...

I am about half way through this book and LOVE it. We have rehabbed many properties but are just now getting into flipping them and this has made me think of things I never would have thought of on my own!

I'm in the real estate business and have worked with people who thought they wanted to get into the flipping business. I read this book from cover to cover and then used the website referenced within. This book gives very concise, easy to understand, steps for every stage of flipping. There's so much more to it than just buying a house and fixing it up. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone considering this as an investment or hobby.

I thought flipping would be easy, but after reading the insights of this book I started to have a new appreciation for those individuals who do this for a living. The book educated me on the in's & out's of this business, and don't kid yourself this is a business. If you are not committed to Flipping you will be broke very quickly. The book itself prepares you for the Flipping process and offers useful tips. Good book for a beginner.

Made the mistake of spending $2K to go to a Scott Yancey three day workshop where I could have just purchased this book and learned how to flip from A - Z. I am 3/4 of the way through the book and they provide a step by step process from where to find the property, how to approach the seller, estimating repair costs, making the offer, etc. I recommend this book to read, re read and take notes.

Great book, highly recommend. Great for new investor looking for a jump start on their career!! I Am a seasoned real estate agent and found the information to be very informative! It is hard starting an investment portfolio and there are a lot of speed bumps, this book will help you navigate the waters.

First, I must say that this is so far the best book I have read on this subject. The authors seem to be very experienced and knowledgeable in the field of rehabbing homes. I am very pleased with what I got for $15 (or whatever I spent). I feel that with this book, I could successfully FLIP homes. My first primary home was a fixer upper, and I did pretty much all of the work myself. I turned a nice profit when I sold it, but I think that I could have done better had I known then what I know now.There was not a lot of information that was new to me, but the book did bring together a variety of related topics. Likewise, the authors presented a few smart systems for completing the project.The reason I gave this book only 4 stars is that I don't like the writing style of the authors. This book could have easily been 150 pages or less. The font was a little big, and there was WAY too much worthless text, random anecdotes, and stupid analogies. One page in particular was about Punxsutawney Phil...it wasn't until the third or fourth paragraph that the author crafted some way of connecting that to flipping houses.Overall an excellent book worth every penny (the authors need to stick to flipping houses though). I wish I could get my friend who has recently jumped headlong into rehabbing houses to read this book...

I just couldn't settle into this book, and never finished it. The setting had potential, but the characters never rang true. MIght have liked the eccentric neighbor, but she was never developed. The local minister was just plain creepy. Was the main character supposed to be falling for a young man 15 years younger? And they seemed to think solving the murder was done by making up possible stories rather than following clues.

I enjoyed Murder at Hawthorne Cottage and was planning on continuing with these books. I then read some reviews of the second book in the series and was horrified of the reports of domestic violence which seemed to be acceptible to the author. I will not be reading any further books by Betty Rowlands again.Thank you reviewers.

I enjoyed this book. However it has previously been written under another title (A Little Gentle Sleuthing). I am glad that I did not buy the book written previously under the title listed above. This duplication of titles should not be allowed. I really enjoyed this character and have bought 5 other books featuring Melissa Craig. Hope she writes more.

Enjoyed the book so much I've read three more and have another downloaded. Interesting well developed characters with good storylines. If you're looking for graphic sex or violence these books aren't for you. If you're looking for a good story that makes you work your brain a bit, make a good cup of tea, put your feet up and turn the gadgets off as you enter Mel's world in the Cotswolds.

I read this book because I lived in the Cotswolds area for many years & I love cozy mysteries! It was easy to read, has a plausible plot & the characters seem authentic. It was also 'clean', which I appreciate. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Found the story to drag at times, but I might consider future readings. Thank you.

I'd never heard of Betty Rowland's books but I'm so glad I found them. I'm not at all surprised that they're enjoying a resurgence in popularity after so many years.I love this type of mystery - they make for very soothing reading - and I love the way the author writes her characters. You can almost see them in front of you.Fabulous! Can't wait to get stuck into the rest of the series.

This was a pretty good story, similar in vein somewhat to the Agatha Raisin books, but with a little more substance. There were many leads which send readers up & down & back & forth. A good clean mystery.

Having done a lot of my own research on Endometriosis, I was shocked to see mention of the Sampson Theory early and prominently in this book. That theory has been widely debunked in the medical community. Once I saw that, I skipped to the back with the nutrition section, and found many of the meal suggestion directly contradict those of most medical recommendations for low inflammation diets. Eggs and dairy are typically the first items to cut, not in this book. These two thing completely undermined the integrity of the author and book.

I bought this book the week after I had laparoscopic surgery to diagnose & treat my endometriosis. I devoured it in just a few days. It was fascinating to read, and I learned so much from it. After my surgery, my doctor wanted to put me on a medication that would put my body into a state of menopause to further treat my microscopic endometriosis. I'm so thankful I declined. I began my endometriosis diet less than 4 weeks after my surgery. I started by cutting out wheat entirely for a month. Then I cut out dairy entirely in addition to the wheat. (I cut things from my diet based on what the book said and how certain foods would cause certain people's bodies to react.) I then cut out a whole bunch of other stuff. Less than 3 months in, I started noticing how my body was responding to the diet. My mood swings were nonexistent, I was happy all the time, I had zero flatulence, and I stopped experiencing cramping before my period. It was a complete and utter transformation. Less than 4 months into the diet, I found out I was pregnant. (We had been trying with zero success for almost a year at that point.) I am almost 6 months pregnant now and will go back on the diet when we start trying for our second child. I cannot say enough good things about this book.

This book has really helped me understand endometriosis and modify my diet. I would recommend any women that has endometriosis to pick up this book. She provides insight into foods to cut out or cut back and supplements that can help you get better. There are many stories from her patients sharing there experiences, symptoms and what changes they needed to make to experience a better quality of life. Also, reading this book helped me identify other things I was experiencing every day as symptoms. Just a couple for example... Frequent stomach aches and feeling exhausted all the time. I never connected these as being symptoms of endometriosis.

Being someone who suffers from Endometriosis I was looking for anything that works. Having a basic knowledge of how nurtition affects you is a great place to start. If may not work for everyone because they symptoms affect everyone different. I will say it's a horrible thing to have to deal with and if a person is willing to chane their diet to try to help the symptoms than read this book.

If you buy just one book about Endometriosis, please let it be this one! I have read a lot of books about this disease and this is still the one that goes into the most detail and the best explanation of the disease process. Don't be fooled by the title....this isn't just a nice little cookbook. This is a scientific study into the relationship between Endometriosis and the food, chemicals and substances we consume, and why so many of them are inflammatory to this condition. I found this work to be absolutely fascinating and invaluable.In fact I was so inspired by it that I flew to London to meet with the author myself for an apoointment and really had a wonderful experience. I found Dian to be extremely compassionate and knowledgeable, and she seemed to be able to finish my sentences before I did! What a great insight this lady has. Because of her I discovered that I had many food intolerances I didn't know I had and cutting them out has made a huge difference to my pain and energy levels. Thank you Dian! This book should be renamed The Endometriosis Bible, because if you are serious about taking control of your disease process, you need to buy this book!

I'm halfway through the book and glad I made the investment. The information is excellent and VERY infomative. Going to doctors, scouring the internet and reading other endo books leaves a great deal of information gaps. The book is in many ways a textbook covering the human body in relation to endometriosis.That being said, there is a lot of antidotal evidence and, in my opinion, debatable nutrition information. The devistation that endometriosis can bring is overwhelming and it leads many of us to become desprite for relief. My doctor, a leading endometriosis researcher, STONGLY disagreed with much of the nutritional information (he said that it wouldn't hurt you, just don't expect it to fix all your problems). After saying that, I still found that the book increased my knowledge tremendously and offers the despirate endo sufferer an alternative option when nothing else is working.

With medical conditions, such as endometriosis and hypoglycemia, doctors are limited to prescribing medicine that contains severe side effects and surgery that causes more disability and pain. Books written by Dian Shepperson Mills and Edward Krimmel is providing patients with a much needed look outside the proverbial box. Rather than limit treatment to pills and surgery, they suggest changing the foods we eat and drink as well as manage stress in our daily lives. I highly recommend this book, as it provides hope where western medicine cannot.

This book is much more than a nutritional guide like I thought it would be. It really explains the disease and how our reproductive system works, down to the cellular level. It also has a lot of references to technical articles which adds credibility to what the authors are saying. It has a wonderful balance of science and practicality including many stories of real women who have benefited from the book's advice. I haven't finished it yet, but I'm already filled with new hope and confidence to beat this disease.
