I read the entire book page by page. It is extremely well written and spells out everything about conducting. "Complete" is pefect for this book. I got put into a conducting position when I went to concert band rehearsal one night and the guy who said he would do it was not feeling comfortable about it (and he teaches jazz trumpet playing and improv in classes around the US!). I said I would do it. Being a flute player makes it tough as I can follow the melodic lines in the score but the other parts are tough. Only half of the music has a full score as some of the music is pretty old and has been passed through many hands over the years, so the music for the first concert of the season (and I had to conduct) was a challenge. I got this book after that concert. Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to mark up the scores. But after reading the book I feel more confident about helping out again. Luckily the audience was very receptive (seniors from the senior homes in town). A great learning environment for a newbie conductor!

He takes you through conducting rather quickly and I will say if you NEVER conducted before this can be a good introduction to you and giving you the basic, however it might be a little fast paced. All in all, I really like this book and I picked up a few new things after 11 years of conducting a children's choir.

It was what the title said. Just for idiots pretty much. I learned a little bit, but not nearly what I needed. I'll be searching for a more comprehensive conducting text. But not bad if you are just wanting a little bit of information.

This is a wonderfully concise guide book for the amateur conductor. The book is well organized and the concepts are clearly stated. If you are a struggling amateur conductor of a church choir or community orchestra, this is the book for you.

Good material, but some parts could have been better described, and some parts were like this: "Don't do this and that! But really, it's up to you." Soo, it's kinda confusing really.

Haven't gotten through the whole thing but it is very well organized, very clear and informative. Just what I was looking for.

This truely an Idiot's book. It would be fine for someone without any experience but not educational for someone with some knowledge.

I bought this book for my son for his birthday. Turns out, the subject matter is not just about birthdays, but also manners. A bit over my two year old's head, but you can't start too early. It's not his favorite, but I liked the multicultural pictures of all the humans. It's not the best in the series, but we read it from time to time.

We love all the "how do dinosaurs" books. This was a gift for my three year olds birthday. We read it a few times before his party, and during his party we were able to reference the book to encourage good behavior.

My kids love dinosaurs so this book was a big hit before their dinosaur birthday party. It has excellent illustrations and describes how to have good manners at your birthday party. Board book is high quality. Highly recommend.

What a shock and disappointing!! This book uses the ‘she’ pronoun and styles the dinosaur as a girl. In addition, it refers to family in an antiquated way. No room for same sex couples, divorced, adoption, etc families. We did not want to read this to our grandson after previewing it! This book should come with warnings so people don’t waste the effort and money!!!

I bought this for my son's third birthday (which was dinosaur themed, as he loves dinosaurs). He loves it. It is a short cute book. Each picture had the name of the dinosaur pictured.

I purchased this book for my sons 1st birthday party. It was a dinosaur themed party so I just had to buy this. I have to say it was such a hit! We had kids ranging from 1 to 6 and they all loved when I read the story to them. (Side note, i'm a teacher). The pictures are fun and the story it self was wonderful. The book is also very durable which will help now that my 1 year old wants to bring this around the house with him.

If I had the chance to read this book prior to purchase I would not have purchased. Some parts don't make sense and others are very inappropriate!

LOVE THIS BOOK! We purchased as a guest book for our son's dinosaur themed birthday party, and it is perfect! The illustrations are fun for kids and the words are easy to read.

I love that they tell you the species of dinosaurs, but they aren't too accurately depicted, which could cause some confusion. As far as the story content, they seem to have a positive point. Act kind, be responsible, etc. Overall, these aren't for us.
