About the Author
Sui Ishida was born in Fukuoka, Japan. He is the author of Tokyo Ghoul and several Tokyo Ghoul one-shots, including one that won him second place in the Weekly Young Jump 113th Grand Prix award in 2010. We see what happened to their mother and father, how they ended up on their own, what kind of parenting they experienced. How they kind of stuck together when they could, and yet how they separated on such bad terms. Throughout this, we see Ayato beating Touka horribly in the present.Ugh, it's awful to watch.We actually see less of Kaneki for most of this volume, until he steps in and fights Ayato. And Kaneki is badass now. That torture has changed him completely, and it's rather fascinating. He separates from everyone at the end of the volume, and I'm interested to see where he's planning to go next. It's a sad parting with Touka, though.This series is really hard to take at times, it is so violent; and yet I just can't stop.[More of my reviews are available on my blog, Geeky Reading, to which there's a link on my profile.]
Vol. 8 of the Tokyo Ghoul Series picks up the confrontation between the mysterious organization of Ghouls, known as Aogiri Tree, and the Commission of Counter Ghoul (CCG). There's lots of action and fight scenes as the battle comes to a violent conclusion, all with the excellent artwork that has come to be expected by manga author Sui Ishida. We also get a glimpse of siblings Touka and Ayato Kirishima's past, an interesting side story which sheds light on how the two became what they are in the present. An action-packed, exciting volume, Volume 8 is a must read in the series.
I absolutely love the Tokyo Ghoul manga. Sui Ishida is brilliant, and this volume does not disappoint. I would like to point out that the translation into English was well done. Not all manga can take a translation and come out understandable, much less still in such stylistic writing. Additionally, when I ordered this book, I expected it much later than when it arrived. The prompt delivery was incredible. I love this series, and I love the top-class packaging and delivery I received.
Awesome series! I was introduced to the series last Christmas and immediately got hooked! I would recommend this to anyone who loves manga, and the anime is just as good!
This is a great manga. If you watched the anime, let me tell you, the manga not only is a bit different, it has so much more to offer.

I had the japanese release of this manga before it was translated and it. Both are obviously good since they're the same manga.
